People type /leave in Slack or Teams. The manager sees the days left on the approve button. One daily post names who is out. UAE, KSA, UK, and US policy templates keep the math straight.
You keep a workbook called leave-2026-final-v4. Managers approve by email. Then Slack asks "is anyone in this weekend?" because a Riyadh week rests Friday and Saturday, a London week rests Saturday and Sunday, and Hijri holiday dates move every year. Column G does not.

Request, approve, post
A person runs /leave and picks a type, the dates, and on Team and up a half day. Free is full days only, for 5 people, with email approval.
On Team, Business, and Scale the manager gets a card showing the balance left after this request. One tap approves or declines. The balance moves the moment they tap. Team and up get an iCal feed, and Business and Scale sync to Google Calendar and Outlook.
At the time you pick, the bot posts who is off today in one channel. On Team and up a weekly email lists next week, so gaps show up on Friday and not on Monday morning.
Policies with numbers, not a blank PTO bucket
Team holds 8 policies and 1 country holiday calendar. Business and Scale hold 20 policies and 4 calendars: US, UK, UAE, and KSA. The UAE and KSA calendars carry Hijri-dated public holidays, and we update them when the dates are announced. We do not guess Eid in March.
Starter templates you can edit:
- UAE annual leave: 30 days after one year of service, and 2 days per month after six months but before one year.
- UAE sick leave: up to 90 days after probation, 15 at full pay, 30 at half pay, 45 unpaid.
- US, UK, and KSA: starting points you edit with your lawyer.
Both UAE rules come from the UAE Government leave page (u.ae, dated 14 Oct 2026, read on 27 Oct 2026). CSV import of opening balances is how you leave the spreadsheet without retyping 40 rows: 25 rows on Team, 75 on Business, 200 on Scale.

When does it launch?
No public date yet. Founding members get the invite first, by email, before anyone else.
Do you calculate end-of-service gratuity?
No. Unused annual leave on exit is a line in the policy template, and Scale exports the days for payroll. Gratuity is out of scope.
Is this a full HR system?
No. It handles requests, balances, approvals, and the daily post. Payroll, visas, and performance reviews stay in the tools you already use.
